FABIAN PDA, COLOMBIA/SPAIN Musician, bassist and educator. Bachelor of music, he has been a member of the Cali philharmonic, the National Symphony Orquestra of Colombia as well as the Film Symphony Orquestra in Madrid. After finishing his classical studies, his musical interest started aiming towards the Cuban culture which made him travel to the Havana island to take a doublebass course at the Higher Art Institute. He spent some time at the island learning a lot of it’s musical rhythms by his own. In 2009, he won a musical improvement scolarship for Ibero-América from the Carolina Foundation, studying jazz and modern music at the Liceo Conservatory in Barcelona. After returning to Colombia he started playing with different jazz, salsa, pop and world music bands and had the opportunity to tour around the world for 4 years with “ Monsieur Periné” a Latin Grammy Band from Colombia. In 2014 he moved to Madrid Spain where he became an active musician of the musical scene of that city ever since. He also have played along side several important salsa singers such as Tito Nieves, Roberto Roena, Maelo Ruiz, Roberto Blades and very recognized local bands such as Iván“Melón “ Lewis and the Cuban swing express, CMQ big band, the Orquesta del Solar, and “Jalea de Mambo”.
