His mother continued to post more videos of him singing covers. He started to build an audience. He was discovered online in 2008 by Scooter Braun. Braun flew Justin to Atlanta for him to meet and sing in front of Usher. This resulted in him signing to Island Records. In 2009 he released his first EP entitled My World and a year later, released his debut album My World 2.0. The leading single for this album was undeniably the hit single Baby. The video for this song went viral. The album went platinum in the US, the UK, and Canada. The following years were very busy with album releases, tours, and movies. "What do you mean?" was one of his first number ones in the Billboard 100 and was a massive success overall. His second single from that album called "Sorry"dethroned Adele’s "Hello" after a week at the top of the Billboard 100. Before it had even been released officially as a single, "Love Yourself " did equally as well as the other singles. In 2016, Justin Bieber released a single called "Cold Water" with Major Lazer and MO. Within the first week, the song jumped to second place in Billboard’s top 100.
