Abraham Urdaneta


Abraham Urdaneta is a Venezuelan composer, keyboardist and flautist, born in Caracas in 1996, into a music-related family. His musical education began at an early age, with recorder and singing classes at the age of nine, choral and soloist singing at El Sistema Nacional de Orquestas at his 10, and two years later, formal studies on western concert flute, which include five years in the Conservatorio Simón Bolívar. He earns his Bachelor’s Degree on Music in 2018 (major in Music Composition), at the Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes (UNEARTE; Venezuela). He is currently studying the Master of Music in Composition, at the Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB; Venezuela). His professional experience includes two years as main harpsichordist and organist in the Orquesta Barroca Simón Bolívar, in which he received formation on historically informed performance. As a composer and arranger, he has been able to premiere some important compositions of his own catalogue, but also arrangements for different musical ensembles -which includes salsa orchestra, string quartet, brass ensemble, and even symphonic orchestra-. Nowadays, he works as composer-in-residence of the association Creando Pilares and of the Mexican music school Casa de Música del Noroeste, from Tijuana.
