Jonny Owens is a London based Guitarist, fusing Classical, Jazz & Flamenco into an original acoustic sound for the stage. Taking inspiration from artists like Paco de Lucia, Tommy Emmanuel, Augustine Barrios and Janek Gwizdala to name a few. Jonny was born into a musical family where he was introduced to Classical, Jazz and 70's rock from a young age and spent his teens learning drums, piano and guitar. After performing in a variety of bands in his hometown of Reading, he co-founded Funk-Pop giants ‘Junkyard Scientists’, entertaining thousands in fields and venues of the UK from Ireland to Glastonbury. In 2012, after 3 years at the LCCM music school, he made what was to become a life changing move to Barcelona. He travelled to Spain to continue his work and expand his horizons, working closely with Majorcan folk artist Steven Munar. Learning from the native Flamenco & Classical guitarists of Spain it was an invaluable exploration of his own musical calling. Now based in East London Jonny Owens is well known for drawing crowds when turning his hand to busking and collaborating with friends and musicians across the UK music scene. Jonny is currently working on his newest project 'The Calm & The Storm' set for release in 2021.
