Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star - [traditional]

This fun and energetic arrangement is suitable for early intermediate clarinetists. It contains some slightly tricky rhythms, a swing section, and a range up to the high (altissimo) E. Possibly one of the best known tunes in the world, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” hails from the early 19th century. The words come from a poem by Jane Taylor. The famous tune comes from an older French song “Ah! vous dirai-je, maman” (“Ah, Mother If I Could Tell You”). Several composers have played around with the song over the years, including Mozart's “Twelve Variations on Ah, vous dirai-je maman” which is often presented to audiences today as “Variations on Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”
