AC/DC

ACDC is a hard-rock band from Australia. Malcolm and Angus Young formed the band in 1973 in Sydney. The line-up of the band changed numerous times until the first steady ACDC embodiment consisted of Bon Scott as lead vocalist, Mark Evans on bass, Phil Rudd on drums and the Young brothers on guitars. In 1975, the band released their first album entitled High Voltage and shortly after, their album T.N.T. was also released (both albums were released in only Australia). This second album was made of several classic ACDC songs such as T.N.T. In 1976, the band popularity was growing as they appeared in many live performances on TV shows and toured Europe. The band released a compilation of songs from both their first two albums, internationally, that same year. They also released Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap in 1976. However, it was issued in the US 5 years later at the peak of their success. In 1977, the band released Let There Be Rock which reached the Billboard 200 charts. A year later, they released Powerage in which Cliff Williams took Mark Evans place. In 1979, Highway to Hell was released and really brought the band to the front of the scene. Unfortunately, a year later, Bon Scott passed away from alcohol intoxication. The band decided to hire Brian Johnson and recorded their following album Back In Black with the new band singer. It was released in 1980, topped the UK charts and was number 4 in the US charts. It is viewed as their most successful album. That same year, the band released the movie Let There Be Rock as a live performance. A year later, the band topped the Billboard charts with their album For Those About to Rock We Salute You. However, the following three albums didn't match expectations. It was in 1990, with the album The Razors Edge that the band made a comeback. It charted at number two in the US. In 1995, they released Ballbreaker in which Rudd returned as the band drummer after leaving in 1980. In 2000, they released Stiff Upper Lip and in 2008, the band’s music appeared in Rock Band 2 (video game) as well as released their Black Ice album. Two years later, the band released a compilation album. They are pioneers of the heavy metal and hard rock genres.
